Privacy Policy

Wetalked ("we", "us", "our") operates the Wetalked Chrome extension and the web application at wetalked.maxomen.com(collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

The following data is generated and stored locally in your browser. It is never transmitted to our servers.

• Audio recordings.Captured at your explicit instruction and stored in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB). Deleted when you remove the corresponding session or uninstall the extension.
• Transcripts. Produced by on-device speech recognition models and stored locally. No transcript leaves your device unless you explicitly initiate a Notion export as described in Section 4.
• Application preferences. Settings such as capture source, language selection, and interface preferences, stored in browser extension local storage.
• Session metadata. The title of the tab being recorded, kept locally as a session label only.

An account is required only to use the Notion sync feature. When you create an account, we collect and store the following on our servers:

• Email address. Used to identify your account and send transactional messages (e.g. sign-in links). Not shared with third parties.
• Name. Received from Google when you sign in with Google. Used solely to personalise the interface.
• Authentication tokens. Short-lived access tokens and an opaque refresh token used to maintain your session. Not transmitted beyond our own domain.
• Notion OAuth token. Stored on our servers when you connect your Notion account. Used exclusively to relay transcript exports to your Notion workspace on your behalf.

When you click "Save to Notion," your transcript is encrypted on your device and sent to our servers, which forward it to Notion via Notion's official API. We do not retain transcript content after successful delivery to Notion.

Data stored in your Notion workspace is governed by Notion's Privacy Policy.

• Notion (Notion Labs, Inc.). Receives transcript content only upon your explicit export action.
• Google (Google LLC).Used for sign-in via Google OAuth. When you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name from Google to create or identify your account. We do not receive your Google password. Google's use of your data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Analytics (Google LLC). Used on the Wetalked web application to collect aggregated, anonymised usage statistics. Not present in the Chrome extension.
• Google Cloud Storage (Google LLC). Used to distribute speech recognition model files to the extension. No personal data is transmitted to this service.
• No advertising or tracking. We do not use advertising networks, data brokers, or behavioural analytics providers.

• Recordings and transcripts — stored on your device until you delete them. We do not store them on our servers.
• Account data (email address, Notion OAuth token) — kept for as long as your account is active, and deleted within 30 days of a verified account deletion request.
• Server access logs — standard infrastructure logs (IP address, timestamp, request path) retained for up to 90 days for security and operational purposes.

You can at any time:

• Access or correct your account data by contacting us via the support form.
• Delete your account and all associated server-side data directly from the Wetalked web application or by submitting a request via the support form. We will action deletion requests within 30 days.
• Disconnect Notion at any time from the extension settings, which revokes our access to your Notion workspace.
• Delete local data by clearing extension storage or uninstalling the extension.

All data transmitted to our servers uses encrypted connections (TLS). Transcript content is encrypted on your device before transmission. We do not store audio or transcript content on our servers. No security measures can guarantee absolute protection; the Services are provided as-is.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to registered users via the extension or by email before taking effect. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated with each revision. Continued use of the Services after notice of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
